Ben Parker chats to Harrogate Town students

During these uncertain times it can be hard to keep ourselves motivated but thanks to our amazing education partners, we feel that VLUK students are consistently inspired and motivated. An example of this is our partners, Harrogate Town, who organised for Ben Parker, ex-professional footballer, to sacrifice some of his time to talk to our students.

Last week, Ben was invited by Harrogate Town to speak to our learners about his pathway through professional football and how he managed to get into football through football academies. He also spoke to the learners about his personal experiences including coming through the academy with players such as James Milner, Aaron Lennon etc. He also touched upon the importance of having a career after football and being aware that this is important as a physical footballing career can not go on forever. Ben also chatted to the students about performance analysis and his current role at Leeds United.

It was great for the students to have the opportunity to speak to Ben and to gain an honest insight into his career.
