Dorking Wanderer’s student proves hard work pays off

Dorking Wanderers academy student, George Membrillera, is proving that hard work really does pay off. George joined Dorking Wanderers after leaving Coventry City FC for personal reasons and has gone on to be a great success both on and off the pitch. George is a model student who has great attendance and works hard across all disciplines. Some of the greatest moments in George’s time with Dorking Wanderers is scoring the winner in the advertiser trophy for the first team against local rivals Leatherhead in front of 1700 people as well as being the reserves and academy top goalscorer in 2018/19!
George comments on the VLUK study programme “Having been in a professional setting at Millwall and Coventry since the age of 13, I wanted to find a programme that gave me a similar experience. Dorking has given me that and more, the support and professionalism of staff has allowed me to continue to progress and develop other areas of my life for example now achieving my FA Level one in coaching”.
Most recently George was called up to play in the first team against Stockport County in the FA trophy second round replay which resulted in a 4-0 win to Dorking Wanderers. The full story can be read here.
