Film making at Stagedoor Cheltenham

Second year learners at VLUK’s Stagedoor Cheltenham Campus had a day of filming this week, with film maker Neil Smith from SOS Film in Cheltenham. The students are rehearsing two plays which will be on in the Irving Studio at the Everyman Theatre, in November, and, with Neil, have planned and created two short films – one to introduce each play. Neil came in to work with the group this week, and will be editing the films ahead of the public performances after half term.

Neil said “It was really good to be back having a creative day with the Stagedoor 2nd years, filming intro films for their November shows ‘Variations’ and ‘Blue Electric Wind’. Great work SDL – looking forward to the shows!”

Neil has worked with us before as a film maker and photographer, so it was fantastic to be able to work with him again, after a couple of years of public performances being put on hold because of the pandemic.
