School Leavers 16+ Study Programmes
Rugby Union

“I was very fortunate to make the grade at Wigan but for a lot of my friends it didn't happen. This programme gives young people the perfect chance to keep their options open.” ‐ Chris Ashton

Are you looking to toughen your mind and body and commit to achieving your dreams? Then we have the programme for you. From September 2019 we will be delivering a full‐time Rugby Union and Education Scholarship for 16‐18 year old learners.

Work experience opportunities will be available to scholars on the Rugby Union and Education study programme within the rugby community. These placements will be organised at partner rugby clubs and from within the Sports Development industry. A typical day may involve work alongside experienced rugby community coaches delivering basic touch rugby sessions to primary school pupils or working with disabled learners. Each work placement is designed to develop the skills needed to work within this fast moving and rewarding sector.
