Pedro Club

Established in 1929 by Baroness Harwood, The Pedro Club was revived in the 1960’s with the support of Dame Elizabeth Taylor, who served as patron up until her death in March 2011.

Today the Hackney based club remains as one of the oldest functioning youth & community clubs in London.

James Cook, a local resident and former British Super-Middleweight Champion, was awarded an MBE within the Queen’s Honours List for Services to Youth Justice in the borough of Hackney. Alongside, Derek Williams a former British Heavyweight Champion both sit on the board of Trustees and look to improve the lives of local young people and adults in an area of little privilege.

By choosing to attend our full time Education and Boxing programme, we will ensure that all learners are guided, inspired and encouraged to achieve the relevant qualifications that will steer them towards developing the skills needed to walk into full-time employment, university or further study.

Having a safe and friendly environment to work in, along with dedicated staff act as the foundations to helping individuals achieve their goals and to succeed in life.

The Pedro Club is here to support you.
