Year 13 learners at our Joe Gallagher Boxing campus have been one of the most successful cohort ever. Each and every one of them have worked tirelessly to reach their goals. Here are a few examples of learners who's hard work has seen them excel in various competitions:
Paige Howarth: Started the academy with 6 bouts, has gone on to win, 2 x national titles, 2 x GB champion, MTK box Cup gold medalist, and boxed for England 6 times, finishing the academy with a record of 25 bouts, with 21 wins.
Ella Thompstone: Started the academy with 0 bouts, then won Gold at Esker Box Cup, 2 x Haringey Box Cup Gold Medalist, Winter Womens Box Cup Gold Medalist, National Association of Boys and Girls Clubs (NAGBC) Champion, England Boxing National Youth Champion, and got onto the England Performance Pathway. Ella finishes the academy with 10 bouts, 8 wins.
Olly Grimshaw: Started the academy with 5 bouts, and then became Northwest champion, leaving the academy with a record of 15 bouts, 12 wins.
Lewis George: Started the academy with 65 Thai boxing bouts, and then won WMO Pro-AM British title, WBC under 18s European Title, IFMA Silver medalist, and finishes the academy with a record of 73 bouts, 64 wins.
Michael Evans: Became 2 x Merseyside and Cheshire champion (2022/23), National Finalist (2022), Haringey Box Cup Champion 2023, represented England in a duel against Wales and 2 x Portimão Box Cup Champion (2022/2023).
Elliot Dillon, campus tutor said "We are looking forward to seeing what the current Y12 will achieve as they progress to Y13 and what the new intake of Y12 students will have to offer the campus".
