Careers in Sport LIVE

Last week our VLUK Redditch Utd Campus learners had the opportunity to go to 'Careers in Sport LIVE' which was held at Edgbaston Stadium in Birmingham.

Our Head of Campus, Dene, decided to take the learners so that they could hear about different sport industry sectors. Dene said "We are keen to open the minds of our learners so that they are fully informed with options of how they could take their next steps following the Study Programme. It also links directly to their Careers in Sport unit of study meaning that they have industry experts supplementing their learning".

The event was set in a conference style to encourage interaction between delegates. Different keynote speakers shared unique experiences and made an effort to push learners out of their comfort zones and into experiences that can be taken forward - such as, communicating and working with other like minded young people that they had never met before - to asking questions of key speakers on a microphone in front of an audience of over 200 people!!

The learners agreed that the experience was very insightful and that it helped them realise the range of careers open to them in the future.
