First team focus

It is important to us at VLUK to give praise where it's due. Three of our learners from our Basford United campus, have made a solid start to their academic year which is showing in their engagement in the classroom and their attitudes out on the pitch. Year one learners, Harry Goddard and Kye Wade, along with second year learner, Desmond Saane, are all displaying a good approach to their studies and this is reflective in the grades that have been achieved in the first set of assessments that have been completed. Not only that, the boys are being rewarded for the good performances in the campus by being regularly involved in 1st team fixtures, with all three now having made several appearances for the 1st team in the Northern Premier League Premier Division.

Sian Judge, BTEC tutor, said “It is pleasing to see the hard work and commitment that the lads have shown since the start of the year is now being rewarded with their regular involvement with the first team. The lads are a ‘shining’ example for the other learners to see what hard work and determination can be awarded with”.
