First Theatre Visit

Posted on

Our Stagedoor Year 12 learners had their first visit to the Everyman Theatre recently, learning about the history of the theatre, which has been a part of Cheltenham life for over 130 years. They enjoyed a backstage tour and being able to experience the studio theatre, where they'll be performing for the first time in January, as well as the main stage which is in the theatre's stunning auditorium designed by Frank Matcham, who was the most famous and prolific theatre designer and architect in the Victorian era.

The Year 12 learners, along with the Year 13s, will be able to perform on the main stage in the summer term, when they work together in their end of year musical, which, this year, will be Sweeney Todd.

Visiting the theatre is always a high point at the start of term, and they'll be back there soon to watch professional productions and undertake work experience.
