Football league Posted on 25 March 2022 Friday the 11th February saw a return of the VLUK Football league. Beaconsfield Town FC and Long Eaton United FC were the host venues for this round of fixtures. With the sun shining at the end of Term 3, we were entertained with some fantastic football played by all teams, resulting in some very closely fought games across the two venues. The big winners of the day were Oxford City FC and Long Eaton United 'A' FC, who both remained unbeaten during the course of the day. Long Eaton United 'A' have moved to the top of the VLUK League, with Oxford City only 3 points behind them in third but with a game in hand. With the vast majority of games still to be played during a very busy March, April and May, there is still a long way to go to decide which teams will reach the Grand Finals due to be played in June.
