From studying BTEC Sport at VLUK’s Chatham FC Campus to scoring twice for AFC Fylde, Harvey Broad’s football journey is a brilliant example of where talent, hard work and the right opportunities can lead.
Harvey Broad is continuing to make his mark in the National League after a fantastic start to life at AFC Fylde, where he is currently on loan from Coventry City.
Harvey completed his BTEC Sport course at VLUK’s Chatham FC Campus, finishing with an impressive Distinction! Alongside his studies, he continued to develop his football career, working towards his ambition of playing at the highest possible level.
His progression since leaving VLUK has been exciting.
After his time at Chatham, Harvey earned a move to Coventry City, taking another important step in his football career. He subsequently spent last season playing for Dagenham & Redbridge, gaining valuable experience of senior football before making the move to AFC Fylde on loan from Coventry.
And he has wasted no time making an impact.
In a recent National League fixture against Forest Green Rovers, Harvey scored both goals in a 2–0 victory, finding the net twice in the second half to secure an impressive three points for Fylde.
The performance was another exciting moment in what is proving to be a rapidly developing career for the former VLUK student.
For us at VLUK, Harvey’s journey is exactly what makes following the progress of our students and alumni so rewarding. His story demonstrates how combining education with a passion for sport can provide a strong foundation for the future, while giving young people the opportunity to continue developing both academically and professionally.
From the classroom at Chatham FC Campus to the National League, Harvey is showing what can happen when you combine talent, determination and opportunity.
