Matrix Standard Accredited Posted on 13 July 2023 VLUK are proud to have been accredited to the matrix Standard, demonstrating the commitment to providing effective Information, Advice & Guidance (IAG) services to all our learners. During the assessment a number of strengths were identified including: Staff described positively the range of support provided to them, from a weekly meeting for new tutors, ongoing CPD including DSL training for Heads of Campuses. Staff confirmed they felt supported in their job role and were supported in their own personal development. This level of support ensures that staff are confident in supporting learners. Additional resources have been invested to provide support to staff and/or learners. Examples include the introduction of the online Start programme, from U-Explore as a careers/employability resource, a new Head of Campus specifically for performing arts and the weekly tutorial materials. Staff are dispersed across the country at different sports and arts sites, with only a small number of staff based at each site. Despite being a dispersed workforce, there was a feeling of ‘one’ organisation with regular communication and support across the different sites. The matrix Standard is the international quality standard for organisations that deliver information, advice and/or guidance, either as their sole purpose or as part of their service offering. Roger Chapman, Head of the matrix Service for The Growth Company said: “This is a fantastic achievement for VLUK and I would like to congratulate the team on their success. We believe that at the heart of high-quality advice and support services are strong leadership, excellent service and a focus on continuous improvement, all underpinned by effective use of the resources available. The matrix Standard is designed to benchmark organisations against best practice in these areas. With their accreditation success, VLUK is working to provide the best possible support to their clients.” For more information about the matrix Standard please visit www.matrixStandard.com.
