This week, learners at our VLUK Visionary Campus welcomed a guest speaker from Body Health Gatwick, who delivered an engaging session on the importance of nutrition and recovery in sports performance.

Speaking to both cohorts, she explored what athletes should be eating before, during, and after fixtures, as well as effective strategies for recovery. Learners were actively engaged throughout, taking away practical knowledge they can apply both on and off the pitch.

For our Year 13 learners, the session provided excellent curriculum links, supporting their current Unit E research proposals on nutritional supplementation, while also acting as valuable pre-learning for the upcoming Unit 4: Nutrition in Sports Performance.

This was an insightful and highly relevant talk that left all learners with a deeper understanding of how nutrition and recovery play a crucial role in sporting success.
