Panto Time

Learners at our JDF performing arts campus, are busy performing at Walsall Arena's professional Dick Whittington panto from 7th to 22nd December. 

As part of their course, this group of talented learners have taken to the stage seamlessly blending education with real-world industry experience. They have had 5 days of intensive rehearsals with Choreographer, Emily Bellingham, followed by two full cast dress rehearsals and technical rehearsals. And now they are throwing themselves into performing every other day until Christmas.

This unique opportunity not only showcases their skills but also provides them with a practical understanding of the demands of the performing arts industry - an experience that is truly invaluable for their future careers. The learners have been immersed in the fast-paced environment of live theatre, working alongside seasoned performers, directors, and technical crews. They are witnessing firsthand the collaborative effort it takes to bring a show to life - from rigorous rehearsals to the energy of opening night. For many of them, this is their first taste of the industry’s expectations, including time management, professionalism, and adaptability.
