Swan Theatre

VLUK Stagedoor learners from Cheltenham travelled to Worcester earlier this month to perform at the Swan Theatre as part of this year's National Theatre Connections Festival. After performing their play, 'Strangers Like Me' at the Everyman Theatre in Cheltenham, they were invited to Worcester Swan Theatre along with performers from other schools, colleges and youth theatres.

VLUK Tutor, Jenny summarised "It was a very early start, getting the coach from Cheltenham to Worcester for an 08:15 arrival, and on a Saturday at the beginning of the Easter break. We then had a fantastic day which included two workshops with professional theatre companies, as well as a technical rehearsal for the final performance of Strangers Like Me. We performed in the middle of the day, but also had the chance to watch two further NT Connections performances from other groups, which was interesting and entertaining! The day ended with a fun social event, which included some karaoke, before packing our set and costumes back onto the coach and heading home".

The VLUK Stagedoor learners were incredibly professional all day, something which was noticed by the theatre staff, and, in particular was commented on by one of the theatre's professional technicians, who praised them for their conduct, as well as their performances.

What a great way to end the term!
