Four of the Joe Gallagher Boxing Academy campus learners were selected to represent the academy on the annual England Boxing DISE training camp to Tenerife.
The trip is a 2 week long warm weather training camp where the learners train twice a day whilst also getting the opportunity to gain valuable work experience by coaching in local schools and colleges, take part in Spanish lessons and take part in cultural activities such as whale watching and Mount Teide running.
This is what our learners had to say about the trip:
Louis Fairhurst, "The trip was a great balance of hard training, fun activities and a chance to be taught by other great coaches and spar different boxers from across the country".
Caeden Minshull, "The trip was brilliant, the work experience aspect was valuable and challenging. It allowed us to implement all of the theory that we have learnt at college into real life application".
Angus Broda, "The trip was fantastic. I learnt the importance of routine, and I was able to meet new people from across the country building lifelong friendships".
Joe Peel, "The trip was once in a lifetime, although I was injured I was able to be involved in all of the activities and continue to train alongside all the boxers from across the country".
The DISE Coach Tony Challinor said "The boxers were fantastic throughout the trip, representing the JGBA to the highest of standards. They all enjoyed themselves, challenged each other and showed the other colleges just how professional the JGBA learners are".
