The Long Eaton, Staveley and Qualitas Year 12 learners enjoyed an exciting opportunity to visit the University of Derby for a Performance Analysis Taster Day. The trip offered valuable hands-on experience, allowing learners to work with industry-standard equipment and create their own telestration from a recent Premier League fixture.

A highlight of the day saw Roman and Luca confidently present their edited analysis in front of the whole group, showcasing excellent communication skills and a growing understanding of performance analysis techniques.

Head of Campus, Liam, shared his reflections on the day “I have taken this trip separately for the last number of years after building up a good relationship with UoD lecturer, James; however, this is the first time as a Head of Campus that I have led a joint trip with two campuses merging for the day. Both cohorts of learners were exemplary and an absolute credit to their campuses and VLUK. This trip has sparked genuine interest in the topic among some of our learners, who will be attending upcoming open days at the University as a result of the taster session.”

The visit proved to be an inspiring and enriching experience, offering learners a real-life insight into performance analysis and future pathways in sport.
