VLUK is incredibly proud to celebrate former Joe Gallagher Boxing Campus learner Joe Woods, who has been crowned a 2026 WAKO Youth World Champion in kickboxing.
Joe, who completed his BTEC Sport course at the Joe Gallagher Boxing Campus, has achieved an outstanding milestone in his sporting career, representing Great Britain at the WAKO Youth World Championships in Jesolo, Italy, in September 2026. His world title is a fantastic achievement and reflects the commitment, discipline and determination required to compete at the highest level of his sport.
During his time at the Joe Gallagher Boxing Campus, Joe combined his sporting ambitions with his education, completing his BTEC Sport qualification while continuing to develop as an athlete. His success highlights the opportunities available to learners who are supported to pursue their academic studies alongside their sporting goals.
Joe's latest achievement also builds on an impressive record of international competition. Earlier in 2026, he won the WAKO World Cup in Jesolo, Italy, competing in the 71kg category and progressing through a series of challenging bouts to secure the title.
Now adding a world championship title to his achievements, Joe is an inspiring example of what dedication, perseverance and a commitment to development can help athletes accomplish.
