We are incredibly proud to celebrate the success of Stagedoor Learning (SDL) alumna Isobel Palmer, who has taken another exciting step in her professional performing career by making her West End debut as Cosette in Les Misérables.
Isobel studied at SDL, completing her BTEC in 2022, before going on to continue her training on the BA (Hons) Musical Theatre course at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama.
Now, just four years after performing as one of the leading characters in SDL’s 2022 summer production of The Dreaming at the Everyman Theatre in Cheltenham, Isobel is performing on one of the world's most famous theatrical stages.
Since joining the company of the West End production of Les Misérables earlier this summer, Isobel has performed a variety of roles within the ensemble while also understudying Cosette, the young romantic lead.
On 5 October, Isobel stepped into the role for the first time, making her debut as Cosette in front of a packed audience at London's iconic Sondheim Theatre.
It is a remarkable achievement and a dream role for Isobel and one that everyone at SDL is incredibly proud to see her fulfil.
From performing on stage at SDL to training at one of the UK's leading drama schools and now appearing in one of the world's most renowned musicals, Isobel's journey is a wonderful example of where talent, dedication and professional training can lead.
Her story also highlights the importance of creating opportunities for aspiring performers to develop their skills, gain performance experience and build the confidence they need to pursue a career in the industry.
We are delighted to see Isobel taking her place in the West End and look forward to following her continued success.
