Work Experience

Over the year, our Year 13 Tooting & Mitcham BTEC sport learners have been working with Merton School Sports Partnership to deliver PE lessons and after school activities. This all came together with a massive event for 3 of the schools working with being invited to Tooting & Mitcham FC and taking part in a football fun day on the main pitch.

Learners have been working towards achieving their Level 3 Certificate in supporting the delivery of Physical Education, School Sport and Physical Activity.

Tutor, Kelly Kennedy said, ‘The past year has given our boys a wealth of knowledge and experience in coaching and the world of work. They have fully committed and a number of them have been going into schools on a Thursday afternoon to deliver both curriculum PE sessions and after schools activities to the young people in local primary schools. We are really proud of our boys. They have shown resilience, partnership, focus and the continued development as coaches. MSSP have even chosen a number of the boys who would like to give paid work once they finish their BTEC studies.’
