VLUK, in partnership with Stage Right, deliver a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Performing Arts Practice (Dance)

This two year course is the equivalent to 3 A levels and will include training in dance as well as singing and acting. It is heavily performance based. Learners will develop their craft by progressing their dance, choreography and performance skills through the medium of classes, workshops, rehearsals and performances, giving them a full understanding of the disciplines and the backgrounds behind them whilst improving their technique.

Learners will be taught by a highly qualified and experienced faculty with regular guest teachers from the west end and commercial industry. The course is held at Stage Right’s state of the art studios in Royston, Hertfordshire. All studios have mirrors, barres, sprung floors and air-conditioning.

The course will prepare learners for further education on a 3 year degree or diploma course. Not only will staff assist learners with their audition material but the course itself will provide a stepping stone to the intensive nature of training on these kinds of courses. To date, 100% of our auditioning second years have gained places at the country’s top colleges for dance and musical theatre, many with funding.

Entry on to the course is via audition, these are held at various points throughout the year. We are looking for passion and potential not perfection
