CRE8 - Stevenage
CRE8 is a full-time Creative Media and Education programme for 16–19-year-olds, designed to develop the next generation of filmmakers, designers, content creators, marketers, and media professionals.
Based at the Gordon Craig Theatre, our Stevenage campus provides a truly inspiring setting for students to learn, create, and connect with the creative industries. Since opening in 1975, the theatre has become a cultural hub for Stevenage and the wider home counties, hosting everything from plays, pantomimes, and opera to live music and comedy. This vibrant, professional environment offers our learners a unique insight into the world of performance, production, and entertainment.
Whether your passion lies in photography, videography, graphic design, social media marketing, or live-event production, CRE8 equips you with the tools, knowledge, and pathways to succeed. Students study towards the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Creative Media Practice — equivalent to three A Levels — providing progression routes to university, apprenticeships, or direct employment in creative, marketing, and live-event sectors.
Learners benefit from access to industry-standard equipment, hands-on workshops, and live project opportunities, including links with theatre staff and creative professionals. From creating promotional graphics and video trailers to running social media campaigns for live events, students gain practical experience that connects classroom learning to real-world practice. By building a portfolio that showcases their digital marketing and creative media skills, learners are well prepared to stand out in a competitive industry.
CRE8 is more than a classroom — it’s a launchpad for ambitious young people ready to build a future in the creative industries. With a focus on professional behaviours, personal growth, and career readiness, this is your opportunity to unlock your creative potential in the heart of Stevenage’s cultural scene.
