Hebden College of Dance
The VLUK Hebden Dance Campus is Peterborough’s home for professional post-16 dance education and training. Built on the success of the award-winning Hebden School of Dancing, we offer a fully funded BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Performing Arts (Dance), delivered by highly trained staff in purpose-built studios, preparing learners for higher education and the professional dance industry.
A key feature of the campus is its experienced staff with extensive industry experience. These experts bring real-world insight, ensuring learners receive up-to-date training across various disciplines, including ballet, contemporary, jazz, acrobatics and more. The small class sizes foster a supportive learning environment where individual strengths are celebrated, and tailored feedback helps learners reach their full potential.
Moreover, the curriculum integrates performance opportunities, workshops with guest artists and exclusive industry insights. This approach enriches the learners' learning journey, offering invaluable networking and real-world experience. The annual showcase and competitive events allow learners to apply their skills in professional settings, building their confidence on stage.
In addition to technical training, the Post-16 campus places emphasis on pastoral care and personal development, ensuring learners thrive both academically and emotionally. The programme also offers guidance on higher education routes, auditions, and career pathways, making it a comprehensive launchpad for future success.
To be considered for this course, learners must have a minimum of five GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade 4/C or above, including English and Maths.
Applicants are required to attend an audition to assess potential, commitment and suitability for the course.
By blending elite dance education with expert guidance, The VLUK Hebden Dance Campus stands out as an inspiring, inclusive, and ambitious environment for the next generation of performers and learners.
