Stagedoor Learning
Stagedoor Learning works in partnership with a professional regional theatre, the Cheltenham Everyman, to offer a groundbreaking opportunity to develop your passion for the Performing Arts.
With insight into all aspects of the performing arts industry through this unique theatre setting, you’ll benefit from focussed, attentive teaching and make connections with industry professionals, opening doors to your future. All sessions are delivered by either our outstanding, experienced tutors, or by one of a number of specialists and industry professionals, ensuring that your training is second to none.
Stagedoor Learning offers the Performing Arts pathway, which allows you to specialise as you go along. Acting, movement and singing are all covered, and as we have a small intake of no more than 20 students per year group, we build the course around you, taking into account your interests and ambitions.
The course consists of 13 units over 2 years. These are split into mandatory and optional units.
Mandatory units are:
- Investigating Practitioners’ Work
- Skills and Techniques for Live Performance
- Group Performance Workshop
- Performing Arts in the Community
- Individual Performance Commission
- Final Live Performance for an Audience
- Employment Opportunities in the Performing Arts
Optional units include:
- Variety Performance
- Singing Technique
- Movement in Performance
- Jazz Dance Technique
- Musical Theatre
- Theatre for Children
- Site Specific Performance
- Classical Theatre
- Improvisation
You will be given regular opportunities to perform in the Everyman Theatre, with a professional team supporting you. You will also be able to undertake work experience at the Everyman, in departments including wardrobe, Front of House and Education & Community, as well as watching professional productions across a range of genres.

Audition process:
Applicants will be invited to attend an audition workshop, which will consist of a number of group activities and opportunity to chat to current and former students. Applicants will also be asked to prepare either a short (1 minute approx) monologue or song to perform during an informal individual audition and interview.
